It has been my favorite Japanese restaurant in San Francisco since 10 years ago! Their sashimi and sushi are unbeatable! Super fresh and they always use seasonal fresh ingredients!

One of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to because of the quality of the food. Pristine is the word that comes to mind. Classy, refined vibe with great service to match. Not pricey considering the quality of food. Great date spot.

Insanely good and authentic food. Instant favorite. Price is amazing relative to NYC and quality competes in every way.

The staff was very friendly even though two of us came in close to closing. They offered us free appetizers and hot tea. Their specialty rolls were fantastic.

Probably the finest Japanese restaurant I've experienced in San Francisco. Fish is extremely fresh. This is authentic Japanese sushi so you won't find tempura rolls, Caterpillar rolls etc. This is for the real deal! Not inexpensive but you definitely get what you pay for here. Truly fantastic.

Food is okay. over priced. Waitress was rude. We asked for hot dish and she said “we don’t serve ramen or anything.” Asked for a sit change and never responded. Overall the place seemed a little entitled.

The last time I was here was much better. No space at the bar for lunch. I dined alone and did not feel well attended to. Food was outstanding however as I was last time. Refined Japanese and Sushi experience. Definitely financial district prices. Great place to take business colleagues for lunch.

Seafood is fresh, service is good. However considering the price, I am quite disappointed. I have had Japanese food for more than 20 years now, the food quality is no where near the Japan standard.

Simply amazing. Ask to sit with Chef Tim. Every single thing we had was outstanding. We have eaten sushi in many places and haven't had omakase this good since King Street in Honolulu. You won't go wrong.

Lovely and cozy restaurant. Complex yet simple dishes where every detail seems to be meticulously engineered to give you the greatest dining expetience. The sushi was amazing, the service was outstanding as well. Would definitely go again.

This site is my favorite site. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. when I feel like having a proper lunchon, this is the place that comes straightaway to my head. splendid and diverse food and a rich menu.helpful staff, and pleasant spirit. And very important, the expence is fair. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Superb sushi in the heart of the city. Ordered omakase with tuna, salmon, and hamachi prepared various ways and it was so delicious. First time here and will definitely be going back. Ray, the owner was super friendly and allowed his sushi chefs to do what they do best. Trust them.

Amazing experience and absolutely divine food.

The atmosphere and the service was very good. The cold sake was great. But..! The food was so disappointing. The dishes without finesse.( lots of parmesan on top of a tempura) The fish was not fresh enough, the rice was dull and the chef’s seasoning was vulgar. We ordered the omakase ( chef recommendation) and we will never comeback. The price though was very high...

The food was really good and fresh. They were very accommodating and patient with our concerns. The waitress was really kind and her suggestions were spot on. It's a great place, but the only down side is that it can get quite pricey really quickly. For some tips, try ordering the sampler and rolls before you go for the individual pieces. You'll be able to save a few dollars this way.

This place simply pops!!!! Parking is a toss of the dice the sushi is fresh the service sterling. E and I had a great time the service is to go to . Friendly staff great for the family and groups. It is so delicious!

We had the nigiri only omakase for lunch. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious. We got to try some unique items like cod milt and baby eels, as well as sushi classics like otoro. one of th best sushi experiences I've had.

Got the Omakase, the dishes presented very well and the service was very professional. Really enjoyed the environment, seemed like a small hidden bar but when you go inside the decoration and ambiance was that of a high class Resturaunt

We were directed to a window table by the hostess. The quality of the sushi was good. However, the server not so good, she kept trying to discourage me from ordering what I wanted, and literally tried to order for me. Also there was a little mosquito flying around around food and touching the sushi. Needless to say I lost my appetite after.

Great service. The waitress were knowledgeable about the menu with great recommendation for Sake. The tasting menu was a great opportunity to discover new flavors and a good variety of dishes. Though it is expensive for what you get. If you are a good eater you might order more. The disappointment was the wagyu beef, great flavors but a bit chewy.

I sat at the sushi bar and ordered whatever the sushi chef said was the freshest. One of the pieces of uni that I ate was FRESH off the plane. Delicious nigiri that melted in my mouth. I highly recommend it!

Sushi and the atmosphere here is better than most. I really loved this place. The service here is outstanding. Prices are decent for the quality. Kinda of like a cafe in Phoenix that I enjoyed.

Butter fish (escolar), Uni and salmon roll are out of this world. I definitely will be back. the service is great and attentive. Very cute and impeccable.

High prices weren't merited by the quality of the tiny sashimi pieces. 1 sea eel was great, the fatty tuna, yellowtail and freshwater eel were just good.

This spot is my favored. I visit plenty of restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The crew is very receptive and the cooking they serve is so delicious. I would always prefer to have a good meal here. Highly recommended.

My favorite sushi restaurant in the Bay Area. Fresh fish flown in from Japan, this is as genuine as you can find. Not cheap but worth it to just trust the chefs. You will not be disappointed.

The best sushi place in town. Make a reservation a week or two ahead for omakase at the sushi bar. It's very expensive, and not from the quite delicious Orion beer. If you like California rolls, and I mean if you reeeeealy like California rolls, this is the wrong restaurant for you. Be polite, let the sushi chef make all of the decisions, and be prepared to hand over your wallet. All of your wallet. I would give this place zero stars to prevent you from going, but maybe my review will help you make an informed decision. Simply the best sushi place in town. A remarkable experience if you can let go.

Unique and great taste. Very frash food, great service. A bit pricey

Outstanding sushi and seafood. All of the fish tasted very fresh. We were fortunate to get a table. We showed up about 15 minutes before they opened and woman asked us if we had a reservation through the security door. Without a reservation we were afraid we might be turned away, but she smiled and said she thinks she has a seat for us. Within five minutes there was a line behind us of people eagerly waiting to get in. We had a sashimi platter, the yellowtail collar, and tons of uni. Everything was wonderful. Slightly expensive but amazing.

We stopped in for an early lunch near opening time after reading the reviews in the local paper. We found the sushi selection to have some interesting choices that we were anxious to try.

Make sure you come with a reservation, don't even attempt to walk in! Akiko's might be one of my favorite omakase restaurants in SF. Sure, the interior is not the swankiest, but I love the beautiful wood interior and the service is excellent. I was seated at a table in the back corner, and not once did I had my water glass empty. Pretty impressive.They have a good variety of fish that you don't always find, but I opted for the omakase to save myself from having to make the hard decisions in life. Their omakase had 15 courses, which means I had to unbutton that top button on my pants by the time I was through. Every course delivered, and I left happy as a clam. I couldn't help myself and had to order unagi and tamago to try them out I can't even remember the unagi at this point, but I still dream about the tamago from time to time.

Make sure you plan ahead and reserve a table or seat at the bar. Akiko's Restaurant is worth the dime you will drop for amazing chef's and the freshest sushi ever. Let the chef choose for you, you cannot go wrong!
